Top Off Your Locks with a Hat à la Julia Barretto and Anne Curtis

When we are always in a rush to head out the door, especially during the recent rainy days, there is not much time (and enough sartorial motivation) to map out fresh, new ensembles. An easy trick to pull out is a jaunty refresher piece—say, a hat—to save us from looking like a serious style stump.

This week, celebrities topped off their looks with various hats, which then proved a point: There’s a bevy of ways to not look silly while wearing one! Hats are now all the rage but there is no denying that choosing the right topper, from vintage clover hats to furry trappers, cashmere berets, and cat-ear caps, could be a bewildering affair.

Watch and learn how to pull off the piece yourself from these celebrities!

Yes, beanies may have a reputation for harboring flyaways on a bad hair day. But there are still many other types of headwear for taming frizz, which Anne is surely seen sporting. Let a wide-brim wool fedora lackadaisically fall over your face and trust it to do its job while eating lunch al fresco or driving ’round town.

So so happy we saw dolphins!!! ❤️❤️❤️

A straw fedora is a great reminder about summer. For Jessica Wilson, it’s both a necessity and a choice when she went out of town to Bohol. So if you find yourself happily soaking up the sun or relishing in outdoor parties, do wear this casual hat for a stellar finishing touch to any bodysuit or flowy dress.

Sam Pinto

It seems like this bunch can keep it cool with their hats; Sam Pinto, along with her best buddies like actor Boy 2 Quizon and Azkals Football player Misgah Bahadoran spent their sunset sessions armed with a variety of toppers—a bucket hat, a fedora, and a couple of baseball caps to finish off their casual looks. Sure, wearing different hats could be a lot of fun a lot, especially if your whole crew is in on it, too.

Julia Barretto

While we can’t wait to soak up some Vitamin D, get hints of a tan, and look all chic, keeping ourselves from looking like burnt toast from excessive UV rays is still the top priority. The best way to score some style points and still shield your face is to pack a hat similar to Julia’s narrow-brimmed boaters.

We love experimenting with floppy felt hats, beanies, and bowlers, but sometimes you just want a hat that is simple and fuss-free. Ease into a good ol’ baseball cap for an instant and irresistible surge of cool. Wear this on days when your hair is a bit rebellious.

Laureen Uy

Add punch to any basic ensemble with stylish accessories. For that, look to Laureen Uy (btw, we’re fairly certain that she is born to rock a headpiece, who punctuated her outfit with this wide, floppy brim fedora Dalila hat from Brixton. You got us updating our shopping carts once again, Laureen!

Capping the night off with endless servings of wine and tartufo, Lovi Poe hits the streets of Italy wearing a beret—a bold yet not too flamboyant statement hat. The best way wear berets when traveling is to play with timeless pieces like trench coats, leather jackets, and V-neck sweaters when mixing in a few vintage pieces here and there.
