As if the rush of the holidays and the excitement over the New Year weren’t enough, Claudine Barretto just had to drop a hell of a throwback post on her Instagram account. Naturally, everyone lost their shit over it. As of press time, the comments on the post have reached 2,476 and has gone viral over other social media platforms.
The photo is a note from her then on- and off-screen boyfriend, the late Rico Yan, and a snapshot of the two in their early days. The note says, “Just want to thank you for last night. You were wonderful!!! And because of that, I’m sure I’m gonna have a hard time sleeping without you by my side tonight. But nevertheless, I still love you very much!
Some of the comments are about missing the original loveteam that could perhaps school JaDine, AlDub, and KathNiel on how it’s done.
Some go as far as quoting lines from other romantic movies like “My Amnesia Girl”. Others are looking back at the glory days of Rico and Claudine. (They didn’t even have a ‘ship name and they still can draw out the #feels like no other.)
Anyway, if the post is making you break out that secret collection of Rico Yan films and TV shows, or making you think twice about your current relationship, we gotta hand it to Claudine for getting us right where it hurts.
