The teaser for Lana Del Rey’s new album is, well, very LDR

It’s been two years since Lana Del Rey released her most recent album Lust for Life. Released six months after Donald Trump assumed the presidency, the album gave birth to politically charged songs like “When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing,” “God Bless America And All the Beautiful Women In It,” and “Change,” as well as a collaboration with Stevie Nicks. Her voice is sultry as usual, but Lust for Life gives a less sad girl Lana Del Rey.

After two years of putting Lust for Life and Born to Die—just because it’s still her most dynamic and exciting album—on repeat, Lana Del Rey finally announced that her upcoming album Norman Fucking Rockwell is coming out on Aug. 30. Alongside this announcement, Lana posted the album art, which was shot by her sister Chuck Grant, and tracklist.

Yesterday, Lana also released a video teaser. As usual, the video screams Old Hollywood. The teaser begins with a narrator talking about the sun and the sea. Then, we see Lana and a muscular guy surfing against green screen. The teaser transitions to scenes of her surfing for real while her cover of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” plays. Well, all I can say is, this is still very Lana Del Rey.

The album is produced by Jack Antonoff, the same guy behind Lorde’s Melodrama and some tracks by Taylor Swift. Based on the “Venice Bitch” and “Mariners Apartment Complex,” there’s a promise of a different sound already—it looks like her love affair with summer isn’t over yet, though. Now, we can’t wait to listen to the album in full and hear what she has to say about cinnamon and California.
