One thing I noticed about the UAAP this season is that the arena has also become a fashion runway. It’s where players show off their sense of style. One trend in particular that is putting its best foot forward is the custom kicks that several players have strutting with on the hardwood. Here are some of our favorite sneakers we’ve seen so far:
Ricci Rivero: PG3 x Lion King
UP’s Ricci Rivero brought out Paul George 3 kicks transformed with iconic “Lion King” characters
Thirdy Ravena: Greek Freak 1s x My Hero Academia characters
Playing against the FEU Tamaraws, Ateneo’s Thirdy Ravena wore Greek Freak 1s with a Boku No Hero Academia design.
Shaun Ildefonso: Lebron 16 lows x Black Panther
The older Ildefonso brother showed off his custom LeBron 16 lows with the king of Wakanda himself in a winning effort against the FEU Tamaraws last Wednesday.
DLSU Green Archers: Greek Freak 1 x Green Archers
This year, the De La Salle Green Archers donned custom Greek Freak 1s with the team’s colors.
Kyrie Irving 5 x SpongeBob kicks
The Kyrie Irving 5 SpongeBob collection was released just last month and a number of stars have already rocked them on the court. From Thirdy Ravena and Juan Gomez de Liaño to Ricci Rivero, the SpongeBob shoes are clearly a popular choice.
