Big news, Puerto Princesa will host an Ironman 70.3 on Nov. 8, 2020, which, according to Palawan News Online, hopes to invite 5,000 international participants from 36 different countries.

The long-distance triathlon race, which consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run, will take place from Barangay Irawan to Simpocan and Salakot. Participants will start the race at Montible then swim to City Beach and finish at Bacungan.

According to city tourism officer Aileen Cynthia Amurao, this will also be a great opportunity for the west coast to exhibit its local products and services to visitors.
