The MTV Movie Awards Give Us Two New Awesome Trailers

As much as we’d love to do our usual scene-by-scene breakdowns, the amount of awesomeness the MTV Movie Awards brought us today is too much to contain.

First, they gave us a brand-new look at Suicide Squad:

Important things we noted here: the appearance of BATMAN (presumably out to get the Joker, who had something to do with the disappearance of his Robin), the existence of more corny dialogue, and some more humor than there was in the first trailer. It does look like Suicide Squad is going to be a much better ride than Batman v Superman was.

And then we got another look at Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, for which we’ve been going on one trailer for months now:

Now this is more like it. We finally get more plot details for Fantastic Beasts, telling us (who hadn’t already looked up the movie) that Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) is in New York to solve what seems to be a murder by tracking down a particular beast of a fantastic nature. New York in the Roaring Twenties is always an interesting period to look at, and it looks absolutely beautiful in this movie—we can’t wait to discover how the magical community lives in ‘Murrica.

That, plus a remixed Harry Potter theme makes the Fantastic Beasts trailer, by a narrow margin, the winner of the night. Which one are you more excited for?
