Christmas doesn’t only mean getting fat from reunions and putting that Jose Mari Chan record on repeat. You’ve got Christmas bonuses and 13th month pays coming in, and malls are certainly taking advantage of the situation by having sales that lure people into buying things that they don’t really need. These sales also serve as the perfect opportunity to buy gifts for your loved ones.
However, if you’re a broke college-aged millennial like me who still relies on aguinaldo and pamasko from titos and titas, then mall sales wouldn’t be your last resort (since honestly, the prices are still sky high and the 10% discount doesn’t really make much of a difference). Luckily, bazaars were invented and they’re definitely serving their purpose of providing us with items that aren’t only cute and useful, but are also pretty cheap as far as prices are concerned! Don’t know where to start and which bazaars you should go to? We’ve rounded up nine bazaars and warehouse sales happening around the metro during the holiday season:
For the book lovers
Anvil Publishing Warehouse Sale (December 7-17, from 8AM to 5PM at KM 14 West Service Road, La Suerte Compound, Merville, Paranaque)
In their Holiday Warehouse Sale, you can score books for as low as P5. According to the reminders on their Facebook page, they recommend going as soon as the warehouse opens in the morning so you can have a lot more options. This is also to avoid running out of stocks for the book that you want. They also have a dress code which prohibits shoppers from wearing shorts or slippers. Lastly, they’re open every day from December 7 to 17 but on December 15, they’re open only until 12 noon.
Books for Less Month Long Sale: Books @ 30 Pesos (December 8, 2017-January 8, 2018, 4th Floor, SM Manila)
Yup you’ve read that right. All of the books that they sell at Books for Less are going to be priced for only P30 in their month-long sale! This sale also includes some of their newest stocks so if you’re a bookworm like me who’s looking for the perfect book to read over the break, then head on now to their SM Manila branch and start hoarding!
For the kids and the kids at heart
Toy Kingdom Christmas Toy Sale (December 15-17, SMX Convention Center)
For their annual Christmas Toy Sale, Toy Kingdom will be selling toys with a markdown of up to 70% off. Happening at the SMX Convention Center, this is the perfect place for you young titos and titas or ates and kuyas with young siblings. Don’t have a nephew or a niece but still enjoy toys? Go ahead and help yourself.
For the shoe and bag aficionados
Shoes & Bags Sale (December 14-17, SMX Convention Center and SM North EDSA Skydome)
Happening at the same time in both SMX Convention Center (for the south folks) and SM North EDSA Skydome (and the north folks), this sale is administered by The SM Store, offering a markdown of up to 50% off for shoe brands such as Merrell, Converse, Vans, Pony, Skechers, Reebok, Saucony, Sperry, and Keds, and bag brands such as Samsonite, American Tourister, High Sierra, Targus, and Kipling. Want new kicks? This is the bazaar for you.
For the discount addicts
World Bazaar Festival (December 3-22, from 12NN to 10PM on Sunday-Thursday and 10AM-12MN on Friday-Saturday at the World Trade Center)
One of the biggest and longest running annual holiday charity bazaars in Manila, the World Bazaar Festival happening at the World Trade Center showcases a wide selection of items such as bags, toys, shoes, and even Filipino delicacies. With over 600 exhibitors and around 700 booths, this place practically sells every single thing that anyone could ever want.
Trendsetter’s Bazaar (December 12-17, Metrotent, Metrowalk in Pasig/December 21-23, SMX Convention Center)
This particular bazaar offers some of the lowest prices in the city. Offering a great selection of fashion and beauty items, the deals that you’d get from this bazaar will definitely not burn a hole in your wallet. Though if you’re a bit far from Pasig, don’t you worry because on December 21-23, they’ll be setting up booths at the SMX Convention Center to cater to south shoppers.
Noel Bazaar (December 14-17, from 12NN to 9PM on Thursday-Friday and 10AM to 9PM on Saturday-Sunday at the SMX Convention Center)
The Noel Bazaar by Cut Unlimited Inc. is actually happening at the same time with the International Food Feast Bazaar. If you’re looking for great deals and great food, then this is where you need to go.
Spectrum Fair Manila (December 16-17, Whitespace Manila)
A lifestyle bazaar that’ll make you feel comfortable and at ease while you shop, this is the first indoor-outdoor fair ever in the Philippines. If you’re looking for a bazaar that offers great food, lots of space, great deals, and a great shopping experience overall, then head on over to Whitespace Manila this weekend to see what Spectrum has in store for you.
Manila Sundance Bazaar (December 19-24, Megamall)
Happening at Megatrade Halls 2-3 at SM Megamall, the Manila Sundance Bazaar has got deals with markdowns of up to 80% off. They offer mostly fashion products but they also have food, music, freebies, games, and even lootbags for their shoppers to enjoy. They also have an ongoing giveaway so if you’re interested in that, don’t forget to check out their Instagram and be sure to come early. They’re giving away a free tote bag for their first 50 shoppers.
