6 Hair Products to Style Your Pixie Cut and Short Curls

Did you recently get a short haircut over the summer and now struggling to style and tame your hair? Don’t worry, we feel you.

The thing with short hair is that when it’s not dried or styled right, it will go in 10 different directions throughout the day. Other times, it’ll just look “meh.” You’ll just find yourself wondering how Halle Berry and Coco Rocha even manage without constantly going to the salon.

Whether you have a pixie cut or a wavy/curly long bob, you’ll need the right products to give your hair the volume and control it needs. Hopefully this will cut you time while getting ready every morning.

Pixie cuts

For this hairstyle, it’s either you go for the “I-woke-up-like-dis” tussle or something more refined. The former can be achieved with a texturizing spray like the Ouai Wave Spray. Just spritz evenly from root to tip to add natural waves. Available at Sephora PH.

If you want it to look sleek without compromising volume, grab the Bedhead/Tigi Manipulator Matte cream. This will add body while keeping your hair resistant to humidity and avoid flyaways. You can finally cop Charlize Theron’s sophisticated pixie cut with this. Available at Beauty MNL.

Bob cuts

I recently got a long-ish bob—while I don’t regret my decision, taming my wavy locks can be a pain at times. If you have the same problem and don’t want your hair to stick out, opt for Tresemmé’s Salon Finish Extra Hold hairspray. This will give your hair a flexible and controlled hold without feeling too greasy. Available at Zalora PH.

There are also those who are into full-volume waves so their bob doesn’t look too bland. According to Allure beauty editor Sophia Panych, to make your bob look more “lived in,” use a sea salt spray such as Toni & Guy’s Sea Salt Texturising Spray. You’ll have all-day beach waves in no time. Available at SM Aura.

Short curls

We know most women would use a straightening iron on their curly hair. However, not everyone has the time to do that and just let their curls do its thing. If you want to add more body to your short curly hair without looking too frizzy, use Camille Albane’s Extra Volumizing Mousse. Apply it to your damp hair and scrunch your curls until you get the volume that you want. Available at Rustan’s Makati.

On the other hand, there’s also the problem of detangling your curly hair. Solve that mess with Original & Mineral’s No Knott Conditioning Detangler. It contains argan and macadamia oils which helps nourish the hair, leaving it with a glossy finish and no tangles. Available at Sephora PH.
