These mannequins are enforcing traffic on the streets of India

Remember when #MannequinChallenge was  a thing? Well, mannequins are now dominating the streets of India. And yes, they’re trending for the right reasons.

In an effort to counter traffic, the Bangalore police positioned 30 life-size mannequins around the city. Complete with  khaki enforcer attires, reflector jackets, police hats, sunglasses, and specific hand directions, these bad boys are ready to tone down reckless driving. Street fashion? I don’t know her.

Chief of Traffic Ravi Kanthe Gowda told News Minute: “We’re changing the location of the mannequins every day, so that repeat offenders can be cautioned and we can use our workforce in spots that really need our attention.”

So far, Bangalore cops’ records show a decline in road accidents over the last few years—from 4,455 accidents in 2017 to 4,133 in 2018. It seems like using dummies has proven to be far more effective than their last effort to solve the city’s traffic jam, where they used cardboard cutouts. Take notes, Metro Manila.
