Please, please don’t let the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster suck

Neversoft and Activision gave us Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in 1999. With this game, it both bonded skaters and frustrated them with its killer soundtrack, unique gameplay and collective annoyance over not sucking during Trick Attack mode. Its sequel was even better—soundtrack and all.

But when the next releases were hella bad, a lot of OG fans got disappointed. That’s why Activision is remastering the franchise in sweet, sweet 4K this September.

This is the latest installment of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater since 2008. With its remaster on the way, we’re getting Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’ll have completely remastered graphics as well as the return of its iconic soundtrack and gameplay. Yes, you can rage once again to the stylings of Dead Kennedys, Papa Roach, Bad Religion and Rage Against The Machine (the perfect band to break your controller to).

Sadly, some songs couldn’t be secured for the re-releases due to licensing issues. Don’t worry though—Dead Kennedy’s “Firetruck” is still making an appearance on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1.

Late ’90s and Y2K kids owe a lot to this game. This game inspired players to hop on an actual board themselves, refine their music palate while growing up and learning how to not suck at time-sensitive levels on video games.

We’re trusting you, Activision—don’t let us down. 2020 already did that job for you.
