Find your music soulmate (sort of) by using this app

Are you an emotionally constipated 20-something who relies on their interests to express their feelings? You’re not alone. Apart from films, songs are A+ at doing the talking for us. But what if we could also find those who vibe with the music we like? Maybe what Dan from “Begin Again” said was kinda true: “You can tell a lot about a person by what’s on their playlist.”

Facebook music recs groups are currently flooded by screenshots from Musictaste.space. Made by Kalana Vithana, this app lets us compare our music taste with friends—or even strangers—by studying our Spotify API (application programming interface) a.k.a. listening habits. Yup, that means our top tracks, genres and artists.

Aside from showing your Venn diagram of top tracks and artists, it also provides a compatibility score between you and a person you matched with. All you need to do is share your code or connect to a sharing link posted by your chosen person. Now, where are my people? (a.k.a. Lorde’s “Liability” listeners at 2 a.m.)

Before matching up, you can head to the site for more details. Is this the dating app for music lovers? Yes. Is this a coping mechanism amid LDF? Also yes.
