Jess Connelly is ready to risk it all—at least in her latest single and music video, “Risk.”
The R&B singer recently dropped her follow-up to last year’s “Chatter,” with its visuals taking a more minimalist approach than her previous offerings. In “Risk,” Jess sings alone in a white room, decked out in white herself. It shifts into shots of her bathed in smoke, then seen through the view of a fisheye lens. Throughout it all, she sings about a love that’s as passionate as it gets.
As her first single of the year, “Risk” sees Jess take on her signature smooth vocals alongside a catchy beat. It’s a ride-or-die and a Bonnie and Clyde kind of love, typified in lines like “If I’m falling for a risk then I’ll take it” and “I’m a fool and I don’t care.”
Elsewhere in the JCON ’verse, the crooner dropped a collab back in November with local fashion brand Toqa, with proceeds going towards Typhoon Ulysses survivors. Yeah, we gotta stan.
