The Gawad Urian 2019 best actress is crawling to your newest watchlists again—and by the looks of the teaser, her trail has left some blood.
Three months after the announcement that Nadine Lustre was getting a new project, director Yam Laranas (“Aurora”) finally offered us a peek into the world of “Greed,” the next addition to the actress-singer’s filmography. A suspense-thriller set to be released on Vivamax, Nadine is starring opposite Diego Loyzaga. Epy Quizon is also part of the cast.
In the flame-filled teaser, Nadine and Diego are seen in a domestic set-up inside a tumbledown home in a rural field. With eerie energy wrapped around the almost no-dialogue clip, we follow their characters’ intense fixation on dates and crumpled Lotto tickets, alluding to the project title’s literal meaning. Before you know it, the creepy build-up reaches its breaking point, throwing us into complete bloodshed and screaming. This leaves us with a two-second Final Girl-esque montage of Nadine (and if I won’t be able to sleep a wink tonight, I’m definitely blaming that laugh).
“Greed” marks Nadine’s movie comeback after “Indak” in 2019. While we wait for its release date (and confirm the validity of this Final Girl possibility) here’s a list of horror films with little to no blood involved. Well, just in case you need that kind of preparation.
