Grace Wales Bonner is about to bless us with new designer Adidas sneakers—no, they’re not Sambas

The designer just debuted sequined Adidas Gazelles and monochromatic Superstar high-tops for her Spring-Summer 2025 collection

Fans of Wales Bonner’s sought-after Adidas sneaker collaboration, rejoice! It looks like we’re getting new sneakers for Spring-Summer 2025.

The English fashion designer continues its collaboration with the German sports brand with new must-have sneaker silhouettes. While the designer has been known for its eccentric take on the Sambas, this season Wales Bonner takes on another beloved low sneaker: the Gazelle.

Part of the reconceptualized Adidas Icons collection, the Gazelles come in a metallic cobalt blue sequin finish with satiny brown stripes, laces, and tongue.

Also included in the lineup is the designer’s reinterpretation of the Adidas Pro Model, an iconic basketball shoe that originally came out in the 1960s. Wales Bonner’s version is more pared down featuring monochromatic off-white and luxurious suede leather uppers.

The shoes were shown during the Spring/Summer collection inspired by the graphic design and wardrobe of the British textile designer and artist of Trinidadian origin Althea McNish.

The 34-look collection featured more womenswear than usual, which included printed dresses layered with net-like textures, roomy perforated and embellished silhouettes, and tailored pieces with strong shoulders and impeccable lapels.

The menswear spectrum of the latest collection featured knits and technical fabrics mixed with sleek tailoring.

Wales Bonner first collaborated with Adidas in 2020 but has since earned avid fans for its infusion of Afro-Caribbean aesthetics into the storied sports brand’s iconic silhouettes.

Other than the sequined Gazelles and the minimalist Superstar high-tops, the upcoming Adidas collection will also include tracksuits, knitted vests, handbags, polo shirts, and retro swimwear-inspired bottoms. No release date has been announced yet.
