Do you manifest a ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ reboot, just like Emily Blunt?

David Frankel’s “The Devil Wears Prada” remains one of the 2000s’ cult classics, offering us a peek into the nitty-gritty of the magazine industry, which is a little spoiler for reality.

Besides highlighting the challenging journey of Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as personal assistant of Runway editor in chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), Miranda’s office wouldn’t be complete without the workaholic senior assistant/part-time mean girl Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt). Being the straightforward woman that she is, just this week, the real Emily got our hopes up about the film.

ICYMI, the 39-year-old actress revealed in American talk show “The View” that she’s down for a reboot of the 2006 flick, together with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and the rest of the cast.

“I would do it in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again,” Emily stated.

As much as we dream for a “The Devil Wears Prada” sequel, Anne Hathaway seems to already have a different POV. In an interview with the same talk show over a week ago, she said that a follow-up to the 2006 movie would be “tempting” to make, but it also appears to be impractical.

“I just think that movie was in a different era…

It’s just very different now.”

“I don’t know if there can be,” Hathaway stated. “I just think that movie was in a different era. Now, everything has gone so digital and that movie centered around the concept of producing a physical thing. It’s just very different now.”

“It is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee and she’s somewhere in Europe and then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci in Italy, who’s at a restaurant. It’s tempting, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. But they could relaunch it, find some new people and do it,” she added.

While the official reboot of the film hasn’t been confirmed yet—and the fact that Anne Hathaway will most likely not be in it—we’ll take Emily Blunt’s manifestations as a sign of another (fictional) Paris Fashion Week in the making.
