To young parents, babies can be confusing. A cry could mean anything—are they thirsty? Hungry? Do they have to poop? Nothing?
Although the technology and internet can complicate parenthood, there are other aspects this tool proves itself. Enter The Wonder Weeks app.
Based on two medical doctors’ research, The Wonder Weeks app helps parents be informed about their babies’ mental leaps and bounds. It’s like hacking into what goes in your babies’ minds with the help of a computer program that compressed 35 years of research.
“From our research, we are now able to predict, almost to the week, when parents can expect their babies to go through one of these ‘fussy phases,’” according to their website. “By knowing what is going on inside the head of your baby, you can help him to make the leap more easily and stimulate his development.”
So how does the app do it?

While personalizing the app, it will ask for the baby’s due date instead of the actual birth date. This is because they say that mental age is linked to the date of conception, not the date of birth.
It has a calendar, which shows when the baby will get fussy and mellow. It also explains the mental progress in specific periods as well as the abilities they develop. Along with this, it also lists the signs of the leap like jealousy, nightmares, and being sweet.
Don’t worry, The Wonder Weeks make sure that parents won’t get lost and overwhelmed while using the app. It provides a one-minute video explainer for each leap narrating what parents should expect from the baby and activities to do with them.
The Wonder Weeks app picks up on the international best-selling book of the same name.
