11 YEARS and counting—this girl from La Salle has come a long way.

How would you like to have it all?

This was the question posed to various media personalities, bloggers, fans and special guests when Coke Zero presented its newest brand ambassador at the launch last May 23 at The Gallery in Greenbelt 5, Makati, hosted by RJ Ledesma.

She is the “Ultimate Multimedia Star,” host, actress and singer Toni Gonzaga.

“She is just the perfect brand ambassador for Coke Zero,” said Nikki Lee, brand manager of Coke Zero. “She’s achieved remarkable things and, at the same time, enjoys what she’s doing. We are proud to have someone like her who does have it all.”

“Coke has always been a part of my life,” says Toni. “With my new discovery, Coke Zero, I get to have everything without having to compromise. It has zero sugar and great taste! Plus, I get to maintain my figure.”

And what a figure it is. The star attributes her naturally slim figure to good genes, and Coke Zero. When asked if she’s on any diet to keep her figure, she quipped: “I’m on a ‘seafood’ diet. When I ‘see’ food, I eat it.”

Big break

This conservative girl from Rizal has come a long way from being the teenager who joined singing competitions in their town.

Her big break came in 2001, when in a softdrink commercial she played a rabid fangirl who, upon spotting her idol, screamed, “I love you, Piolooooooooooo.”

Blockbuster romantic comedies, solo albums, and hosting stints on ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Big Brother” and “The Buzz” followed. Eleven years later, she’s a successful star.

“I was 17! Who would have thought that 11 years later, I’d get to represent a brand in the same family as the ‘I love you, Piolo’ ad,” said Toni with a laugh.

And she’s eternally grateful. “When I was 12, I attended this Christmas Institute for our church. It was then that I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, and then I felt complete. All these things that come after, I treat as gifts,” she said.
