Yesterday, Mar. 29 marked the hottest temperature recorded in Metro Manila so far this 2020. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the temperature reached 35.5 degrees Celsius at their Science Garden in Quezon City.
This is higher than previously recorded temperatures in the prior days, which was between 34 to 35 degrees Celsius.
“Tuyo ang hangin pero dahil sa mataas na air temperature, umabot pa rin ng 37°C ang heat index o init na naramdaman ng katawan,” said PAGASA on a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, in other PAGASA stations outside of Metro Manila, the temperature exceeded 36 degrees Celsius last Mar. 28. The highest of which was recorded in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro at 37.1 degrees Celsius.
According to PAGASA’s weather bulletin for today, however, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Last year on Apr. 21, a record of 36.6 degrees Celsius was the highest temperature in Metro Manila.
