Taking the LRT and MRT? Here are its operating hours during GCQ

With the resumption of operations today, Jun. 1, the Manila Light Rail Transit System (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) have announced their operating hours.

Starting operations at 5:30 a.m. daily, MRT North Avenue Station will have its last trip at 9:10 p.m. Meanwhile, the last trip from Taft Avenue will be at 10:11 p.m.

The first trip to Roosevelt and Baclaran through LRT Line 1 is scheduled at 4:30 a.m. daily. Meanwhile, the last train from Baclaran will depart at 10 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The last trip from Roosevelt is scheduled at 10:15 p.m. on weekdays and 9:45 p.m. on weekends and holidays as well.

As for LRT Line 2, operations will begin at 5 a.m. daily for both the Araneta Center-Cubao and Recto stations. Commuters can catch the last train from Araneta Center-Cubao station at 8:30 p.m. and from Recto station at 9 p.m.

This morning, commuters faced the first day of train operation resumptions with new guidelines in place amid the ongoing pandemic. Among the new protocols implemented by LRT and MRT, as well as the Philippine National Railways, were mandatory temperature checks and marked queues and seats to ensure social distancing. Each train ride also operates on limited capacity. LRT admin has also advised passengers to load up their cards for up to three days to minimize contact and the risk of contracting COVID-19.
