These local eco-friendly brands are helping with typhoon relief

The recent flooding brought about by typhoons Ulysses and Rolly has shown how important it is to care for our planet. While holding corporations and big businesses accountable would be the most logical, though tedious, way to address climate change, doing our part as individual consumers can still make a difference. These eco-friendly stores are walking the talk by helping survivors of recent calamities through whatever means they’re able to.

Here’s how you can help:

Bukid ni Bogs

Bukid ni Bogs is an online business that sells organic soaps. It prides itself on sustainable and regenerative practices while empowering its women and farmer partners. Monetary donations will be used to produce soap for sending to affected areas under the Office of the Vice President. Bukid ni Bogs will also be planting a tree for at least P1,500 worth of donations.  Donations will be accepted until Thursday, Nov. 19.

Loop Store

If you’re a Loop regular who loves their wellness products and home and kitchen wares, your accumulated Loop points can do some good. Aside from hosting donation links on its store’s website, Loop will be accepting donations from rewards points. Collected donations will go to For the Future’s typhoon relief fund.

Simula PH, Nala Woman, Kalikhasan, Weekend Kids PH and A to Zero Waste

These eco-conscious brands have collectively pledged to donate environmentally-friendly toiletries to affected communities and people in need. They’re collecting monetary donations that they’ll convert into products and send these to their partner organization, Kids for Kids PH, for distribution. The brands have pledged to donate daily necessities like toothbrushes, soaps, sanitary pads and wheat-made utensils. They’ll be accepting donations until Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Banyuhay Skin Food

Banyuhay Skin Food will be donating 100 percent of profits made from Nov. 13 to 20 through Ambagan PH. You can also opt to donate the soaps you’ve purchased and it will take care of the shipping fee towards its partner organization.

Slo Store

With every P100 donation you make, Slo Store will give you P100 off your next purchase of its various products that include abaca toys, face masks and toiletries. In cooperation with Simula and Nala Woman, the monetary donations will go toward purchasing biodegradable sanitary pads for survivors of recent calamities. They’ll be accepting donations until Thursday, Nov. 19.
