One’s a sweet and fudgy baked confection originally from the United States, while the other is a Chinese-Filipino pastry that comes with flavorful fillings. These two snack staples may seem like they come from different worlds, but it doesn’t mean they won’t work well together. Case in point, Eng Bee Tin’s new brownie hopia offering—a crossover that might have saved our 2020.
The famous Binondo-based Chinese deli adds the rich and chocolatey variant to its roster of well-loved hopia flavors like ube, mongo and wintermelon. As its name suggests, brownie hopia contains a brownie encased in a chocolate version of Eng Bee Tin’s signature flaky hopia crust.
According to the deli chain, this snack does not contain preservatives and has a one-month shelf life when refrigerated. It is available at an introductory price of P250 per box, which contains 12 pieces of brownie hopia.
This new fusion food is available at all Eng Bee Tin branches and for next day delivery in Metro Manila through Eng Bee Tin’s official website. Outside of the metro, the pastry can be ordered through Shopee and Lazada. For bulk orders, you can also call 8288-8888.
