You might be tuned in to the Oscars right now and thinking, “Why are Ruth Negga and Karlie Kloss wearing blue ribbons?” Well, it’s more than just a plain accessory as it shows support to the ACLU.
The American Civil Liberties Union’s latest initiative “Stand with ACLU” encouraged Hollywood personalities to stand and defend the constitutional rights of the American people. This also comes after the Muslim travel ban and the revoking of the protection law for transgender students.
As of writing, Best Actress nominee Ruth Negga pinned the blue ribbon on her red Valentino gown. This is also fitting as her film Loving takes on discrimination in the ’60s.
The wonderful Ruth Negga wears @MaisonValentino (and @ACLU – Mildred Loving was represented by the ACLU). Well done, @karla_welch. #Oscars pic.twitter.com/GGhpEEjsr6

Also spotted with the pin is model Karlie Kloss and Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda.

This is a great way to put the message across, and also start a fashion statement. Not only that, the ACLU made an Oscars bingo as a way to call for donations for the campaign.
