How to Rock Those Vintage Tinted Sunglasses

tinted sunglasses

There’s something about tinted sunglasses that remind me of summery photos and films set in the ’70s. As recent runways would show us, this is a hot accessory to cop this season.

Vogue notes that the vintage shades made a huge comeback thanks to labels like Gucci and Loewe. The magazine also funnily relates that the yellow and orange-tinted glasses are what our uncles would usually wear. For us, it’s another summer accessory that we’ll wear daily on the streets or at the beach. Because admit it, we all want a fun alternative to our black shades without compromising the sun protection.

Sunnies Studios Kiko

You’ve seen Liza Soberano rocking these bright yellow shades in Sunnies Studio’s latest campaigns. The Kiko is a modern take on the cat eye aviators, which gives the wearer a fresh and sleek look for summer. This pair is also limited-edition so be sure to get the lemonade hue, or the other ones, stat! Available online.

Mango Aviator Sunglasses

The rose gold hue reminds me of Rebecca Gayheart’s shades in Jawbreaker. Its hue and metal frame give the sunglasses the right blend of feminine and edgy. Available at Greenbelt 5.

Elizabeth and James Wright Cat-eye Acetate Sunglasses

For a color that’s not too wild, go for Elizabeth and James’ lavender specs. The cat-eye design is a fun detail that will make you feel like you’re a ’90s It-girl. Available at Net-a-Porter.

Aldo Pisana Sunglasses

Stand out with Aldo’s Pisana Sunglasses, which have rounded square-shaped lenses. It has a light yellow tint that turns orange once the light hits it and, even though they’re reflective, the tint is heavy enough to block out the sun’s rays. Available at Power Plant Mall.

River Island Round Black Sunglasses

Put a twist to your love for John Lennon with River Island’s round violet-hued shades. This is perfect for days you feel like getting into the ’80s mod style. Available at SM Aura.

Ray-Ban Aviator Mineral Flash Lenses

If you can’t decide what color matches your mood for the day, why not a pair with different gradients on the lenses? Ray-Ban’s Aviator Mineral Flash Lenses gives you a mix of blue, purple, and yellow once it hits the sunlight. Available online.
