‘Pinoy na Pinoy’ artists featured at Conspiracy Gallery in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines—Rising artists Arlene de Castro- Añonuevo (Adecastroan) and Yolanda de Castro- Cabuco are exhibiting their works together with other members of the Pinoy na Pinoy Visual Artists Association at the Conspiracy Gallery in Quezon City from now until June 24.

The exhibition, entitled “Lipunan sa Mata ng Batang Juan,” feature paintings of social realities as seen by a Filipino child.

Adecastroan, a sociology graduate of the University of the Philippines, is a self-taught artist and paints based on her rich imagination. She started painting in 2003 after she left her jobs with Cathay Pacific and Midtown Hotel in favor of her newfound passion.

The exhibition opened last May 28 with special guests master painter Fernando Sena, internationally acclaimed painter and writer Maria Pureza Escano and hotelier Elizabeth Sugay-Ang.

You can view the artworks, which are for sale, at the gallery cum café, also named the Conspiracy Garden Café, which once in a while features guest performers like Aiza Seguerra,Bayang Barrios and Joey Ayala.

The Conspiracy Garden Café is on 59 Visayas Avenue, Quezon City, just a few steps away from 7-Eleven and across from a Shell gas station.
