A dress is always our go-to piece for that quick outfit change. They come in various styles from LBDs to shirt dresses for every occasion and personality. But have you ever paired it with a pair of pants?
The dress-over-pants trend is just one of the ’90 staples that’s coming back. The Cut noted that it was “encouraged” because “sometimes it’s too cold for just a dress.” This was evident with the street style at London Fashion Week wherein women utilized the combo for winter dressing. Sometimes even in our office!
Likewise, this trend was spotted on the runways of Gucci, Tibi, Stella McCartney, and Erdem. Dresses were paired with trousers of the same color and pattern, or flared pants to add dimension to the look. Meanwhile, celebrities and influencers put their own spin on it. While shooting for My Korean Jagiya in Seoul, Heart wore a pastel pink trench coat dress with ripped jeans and nude Louboutin pumps.

Heart also wore a sheer white dress with puffy sleeves over jeans. She accessorized it with a denim corset belt. For added color, she wore light yellow heels.

Camille warmed up in Helsinki, Finland with a gray dress layered over a light blue turtle neck, and paired it with camel-brown trousers. She topped it off with Chanel two-toned pumps for, which makes it a good lunch and dinner look.

For movie night, Gretchen opted for a long white polo shirt, which can pass off as a shirt dress. She also cinched her waist with a red Gucci statement belt to give the piece shape.
