6 Lip Oils to Try for Both Moisture and Color

Lip oils are slowly becoming a staple in my collection. It started out with a clear, peppermint scented formula that I would reach for when my lips got dry. But recently, I discovered how they are quite the multi-taskers. In one tiny tube you get the hydration of a lip balm, the shine of a gloss and the color of a tint.

If you want to know more about what I’m talking about, try any of these lip oils. Figure out which one suits your needs the most, from color-changing to highly-nourishing.

MAC Hint of Color Lip Oil

This color-changing product leaves a subtle tint as the oil gets absorbed by your lips. The effect is a healthy and plump looking lips. You can also use this just before you apply a heavier lip product, once the oil has sunk in your puckers. Available at SM City North EDSA.

MakeUp Factory Lip Elixir

This mineral oil-free formulation nourishes your lips and makes them juicy with a blend of seven different fruit extracts and precious oils. It’s a great lip prep before putting on your chosen lipstick or underneath liquid lipsticks that are quite drying. But on lazy days, you could use this on its own to avoid the cracked feeling. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Glorietta 4.

YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil

If you want to try something different, you can try this product from YSL Beauty. The tint in it is suspended in a deep-nourishing oil for a “just bitten” effect. You’ll get a kick out of the color selection as well from plum tones to regular pinks. Available online.

Hourglass N° 28 Lip Treatment Oil

Liz Uy mentioned this product when we asked her which beauty items she takes with her on the plane. The luxe treatment offers ultimate moisture with its blend of lemon, sweet almond, and kukui oils. Plus it comes with a gold-tipped applicator for an extra-cooling effect. Available via SephoraPH.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

Aside from being a good moisturizing product on its own, these oils can add a comfortable shine when applied on top of a lipstick. Made with raspberry and jojoba, they also refresh the senses with their juicy flavor and nice scent. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Shangri-La Mall.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil

If you need a little bit more opacity in color when you apply a lip oil, this one from Burt’s Bees might be something you’ll love. These also leave a shine to the lips but without the stickiness of a gloss while moisturizing your lips. Available at select Beauty Bar branches.
