Erdem Releases His First Menswear Collection With H&M

erdem x H&M

H&M is always on top of their game when it comes to their collaboration collections. In the past they have released lines with Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo’s, and Alexander Wang. Their next project? A collection with London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu.

If you aren’t familiar with the designer, you should be. Having established his brand in 2005, he is known for experimenting with textiles, vibrant prints, and details craftsmanship. Some celebrities who have been seen rocking his pieces are Michelle Williams, Nicole Kidman, and Kate Middleton.

For this collection, Erdem has designed pieces for women and for men. He had this to say about the project, “I am so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale including a menswear collection which I have never done before. It’s also such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, one of the most important storytellers of our time.” Baz Luhrmann, known for films like Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby,  lent his filmmaking expertise to the teaser video of the collection. In the video you can see models walking and running through gardens in printed dresses and coats. Baz believes that more than anything, fashion is about expression, “For me fashion is always about more than just clothing, it is a form of expression a stand alone art form. I am excited to be collaborating with Erdem and H&M to reveal the story of this unique collection.”

If you’re curious about what looks to expect, watch the video below and get your wallets ready because ERDEM x H&M is launching worldwide on Nov. 2.
