‘Chef’s Table’ is back with 3 new seasons

Foodies, your craving for cinematic food docuseries is soon to be satisfied with three new seasons of “Chef’s Table” coming up

The last we’ve heard from the James Beard-winning docuseries “Chef’s Table” was in 2022 when it had taken us around the world’s best iterations of the beloved pizza.

Two years later, we’re getting a full restock of cinematic masterpieces to devour, as the Netflix series announced three upcoming seasons: Noodles, Volume 7, and Legends.

The “Noodles” and “Volume 7” seasons are set to air this year, while the special 10th anniversary season “Legends” will air in 2025.

The “Noodles” season will be released on Oct. 2, and will take viewers through kitchens around the world to showcase the “cultural significance and culinary artistry of noodles, offering a deep dive into both traditional and innovative techniques.”

It is set to feature Los Angeles-based two-time James Beard-nominated chef Evan Funke. The episode highlights his dedication to the Italian culinary tradition through his mastery of handmade pasta-making techniques.

Another episode in the “Noodles” season will feature Guirong Wei, who has pioneered Shaanxi cuisine in the United Kingdom. The episode will showcase Wei’s decades of experience in the industry, shown through her noodle dishes that marry bold flavors and meticulous noodle-making techniques.

We’re then taken to Italy, where Peppe Guida of Michelin-starred Antica Osteria Nonna Rosa masterfully blends fine dining, modern cuisine, and the popular tradition of Campania, Italy in his cooking.

The “Noodles” season wraps up with culinary rising star Nite Yun, who is introducing the world to the Cambodian tradition of flavorful noodle dishes. Yun presents the rich legacy of traditional Cambodian cooking to California’s Bay Area.

Come November, “Chef’s Table” will then present “Volume 7,” featuring “culinary masters across the globe who are redefining today’s food landscape.”

Among “Volume 7’s” featured chefs are two James Beard award-winning chefs: Chutatip “Nok” Suntaranon, who established and runs the highly regarded Kalaya Thai restaurant in Philadelphia; and Kwame Onwuachi, the culinary mind behind the New York Times’ “#1 Restaurant in New York City,” Tatiana By Kwame Onwuachi.

“Volume 7” will also feature the story of Spain’s Angel Leon, known as the “chef of the sea.” Leon runs the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Aponiente, dedicated to offering new and unexpected ingredients from the sea.

Last on “Volume 7’s” lineup are Normal Listman and Saqid Keval of Mexico City. The husband-wife duo marry Mexican and South Asian flavors in their restaurants, reflecting their culinary and cultural roots. Their culinary careers have also been tied to their advocacy for justice, decolonization, and political education.

Meanwhile, the anniversary season “Legends,” as the title suggests, will honor the legends of the food scene, chefs who have influenced and inspired not just the culinary scene but other cooks and foodies, too. The lineup of featured chefs is yet to be announced.
