The Press Photographers of the Philippines (PPP) will stage an Art and Photo Exhibition from Oct. 23 to 28, 2024, at the Makati Commerce Tower on Puyat Avenue near the corner of Roces Avenue.
The exhibit aims to raise funds to support retired and sick PPP members in urgent need of medical and financial aid, according to PPP President Edwin Bacasamas, a multi-awarded photojournalist who used to be with the Philippine Daily Inquirer
The weeklong event will showcase the works of the country’s most esteemed press photographers and various visual artists.

A portion of the proceeds — 30 percent — will go directly to the PPP medical assistance fund for some of its members.
“This exhibition is our way of reaching out to our brothers-in-arms who have dedicated their life to the service of people,” Bacasmas said.
He emphasized that through the collective efforts of everyone involved, united by a shared goal of assisting their colleagues so that they might find the strength and encouragement to face life’s toughest challenges.
The artworks will come from several visual artists — Lourd De Veyra, Jun Sabayton, Ludwig Ilio, Benjie Lontoc, Brian Afuang, Jimbo Albano, Vic Sison, Linggong Ortiz, Jhun Dantes, Roger Luy, Alexander T. Magno, John Eiron Francisco, and Benjo Laygo (+).
Amangpintor (Elito Circa), watercolor master Rafael Cusi, and mud artist Percy Delono will also join do live art performances.
The other artists whose works will be on display are Rico Aunzo, Daniel Dumaguit, Clarisse Agilera, Joe Hilario Arnold Dacles Estrella, and Riza Zuniga.
While DJ Par Sattelite provides the music, Lourd De Veyra and Jun Sabayton will also play some music.
Photographers and members of the PPP involved include Albert Garcia, Joe Galvez, Gino Espano, Jhun Dantes, Claro Cortez, Luis Liwanag, Pinggot Zulueta, Dave Leprozo, Nico Sepe, Boy Cabrido, Gil Nartea, Bruce Lee Strong, Rhoy Cobilla, Roy Domingo, Nonie Reyes, George Buid, Jun Mendoza, Bruce Lee Strong, and renowned travel photographer George Tapan.
The exhibit is supported by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) as the major sponsor and venue partner Makati Commerce Tower—known for its modern design and state-of-the-art facilities.
The event is backed by minor sponsors such as One Stop Record Fair for audio and BossMagazine.ph as the event organizer.

Bacasmas views this exhibition of solidarity within the media community as the driving force behind the event, underscoring the significance of unity in supporting those who have dedicated their careers to documenting history and informing the public.
The exhibition is open to the public and includes interactive sessions, such as artist and photographer talks, live painting demonstrations, and photojournalism workshops, making it particularly engaging for students and young professionals.
