Moira Dela Torre, Denise Julia lead new November releases

Moira Dela Torre’s third studio album and Denise Julia’s sophomore EP dominate November music releases

Slowly but surely, Mariah Carey and Jose Mari Chan have eased their way into radio waves and mall playlists. But before the holiday classics completely take over this December, check out these upcoming and newly-released November drops.

The month’s best and latest will surely be a high point for the year in music—from Moira Dela Torre’s first album in three years to Denise Julia’s sure-hit sophomore EP.

“I’m Okay” – Moira Dela Torre

Yes, it’s been around four years since Moria Dela Torre’s last album but that’s changing in a week with her third studio album “I’m Okay.”

Artists change over time, but if there’s any indication that her music will still hit the same this time around, ”San Ka Na,” the only pre-released single so far, is enough evidence.

“‘IM OKAY’ MY NEW ALBUM COMES OUT NOVEMBER 22NDDDDD!!!! It’s so surreal to be saying this now after 2.5yrs finishing it. There were a lot of plans that changed throughout this whole season, but we had lessons to learn, chapters to close and now, finally, a new season to embrace.”

“I only have one request as you listen: that you make it your own. Mold it to however way it fits your story. This isn’t my story anymore,” said Dela Torre in an Instagram post.

“I’m Okay” comes out on Nov. 22.

“Sol-Speakk” – August Wahh

August Wahh is one to not miss out on as she’s finally coming out with her debut album “Sol-Speakk.” The much-awaited 10-track project includes pre-released singles such as “Bitter,” “Golden,” and “Easier Said Than Done.”

“I feel like i’ve grown so much the past few years and I’ve evolved into this person that isn’t afraid to take up space or speak my mind out loud. How I’ve been so unbothered with things that doesn’t concern me yet passionate to the things I must act on. How I know everything’s alright amidst the constant changes and surprises that life brings and that every single thing is fleeting and yet, I look forward to a future unbeknownst to me.”

“For those who are also going through the same journey, this is for you. Let’s take up space, let’s speak our minds, let’s act on things we’re passionate about and that we may let go of all things that hinder us. May this album be our soundtrack to all that,” shares August on Instagram.

“Sol-Speakk” comes out on Nov. 20.

“Befriending My Tears Deluxe Edition” – Clara Benin

As Charli XCX just proved with her seemingly never-ending “Brat” promotions, some albums just need a deluxe version (or two) and Clara Benin’s “Befriending My Tears” is one of those. The 2023 album will be getting two new tracks, a demo, and “a bunch of remixes” according to Benin.

“Befriending My Tears Deluxe Edition” comes out on Nov. 29. “Hiding in the bathroom,” a new single from the deluxe version, is coming out Nov. 15.

This upcoming track is a collaboration between Melbourne/Naarm-based artist Jewel Owusu and Manila’s Ena Mori. “Time Machine” celebrates both Owusu’s Filipino Ghanaian heritage and Mori’s Filipino Japanese background in a song about making peace with moments long gone.

“Time Machine is about coming to terms with the moments you didn’t fully appreciate those closest to you. It’s a reflection on your childlike self, the love you had to give, and the yearning to return to that open-hearted state. But it’s also a celebration and a reminder to hold your loved ones close and to tell them you love them at every opportunity… My mum inspired me to write this song,” shares Owusu.

“Time Machine” comes out on Nov. 28.

“Sweet Nothings (Chapter 2)” – Denise Julia

So far making a case for being one of the best OPM releases of the year, “Sweet Nothings (Chapter 2)” by Denise Julia is a certified banger. The nine-track EP showcases the fast-rising vocalist’s signature sultry style but also a refreshing take and homage to classic 2000s R&B.

The sophomore project also contains the DENȲ-assisted “Don’t Matter” and “Twin Flames” with features Vietnamese American artist Thuy. As for the must-listens, be sure to check out “Sweet Nothings” with Jay R, and “better than he does.”

“The stories are more real, the production has these rich new textures, and overall, it’s way more intimate. “This chapter is me opening up more about who I am, especially after coming out earlier this year. I think my writing’s gotten a little more reckless and freer—I’m just saying what I want to say without holding back,” shares the R&B hitmaker.

”Kamukha” – Blaster

“It has been 2 years since my last song and i’m so happy to be back making music. This is one of my personal favorites so i hope you guys like it. Stay tuned for more,” shares Blaster Silonga on Instagram. And right he was as ”Kamukha” may be a little late for Halloween, but it surely is a must-listen pop-rock track.
