“The Penguin”
Colin Farrell transforms into Oswald Cobblepot, popularly known as the Penguin, one of Batman’s famous rivals. The series focuses on Cobblepot and his rise as Gotham’s crime lord following the Batman series directed by Matt Reeves. It tells the story of the Penguin’s villain origins, his rise to power, expanding his criminal empire, and climbing the top of Gotham’s criminal hierarchy from a low-level thug to a feared kingpin.
“The Penguin” is available to stream on Max.
“Squid Game: Season 2”
The South Korean survival thriller show “Squid Game” took the world by storm back in 2021. It follows Seong Gi-hun, a gambling addict deep in debt, who is invited to participate in a mysterious competition with many other contestants. Betrayals and alliances develop as the players face their deepest ethical choices and fears. The show blends satire on what lengths people would go to to stay alive and make money with dramatic suspense as it tackles inequality, desperation, and human nature.
The upcoming season is set to showcase yet another iteration of the survival game, all while slowly untangling the mysteries surrounding it.
“Squid Game” will be available to stream on Netflix.
“Alien: Earth”
The next installment in the popular sci-fi horror franchise is “Alien: Earth.” Sadly, not much is known about the TV series’ plot yet. What we do know, though, is that the upcoming show will be a prequel to the original 1979 film, 30 years before Ellen Ripley’s first encounter with the Xenomorph on the Nostromo.
“Alien: Earth” will be available to stream on Disney+.
“Shrinking: Season 2”
Starring big names in the TV and film industry, such as Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, “Shrinking” revolves around Jimmy (Segel), a widowed therapist who starts to break professional norms by being exceptionally frank with his patients following the untimely passing of his wife. Jimmy’s unconventional approaches, struggling to cope with the loss, take a toll on his practice. He must find a way to navigate his messy personal life. “Shrinking” balances humor and emotional depth in a touching and darkly humorous understanding of loss, personal growth, and the tangled nature of human relationships.
“Shrinking” is available to stream on Apple TV.
“Arcane: League of Legends: Season 2”
The series follows the lore behind beloved characters from the hit video game “League of Legends.” It follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, who grew up in utopian Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun—where the pair grow apart. With a beautifully detailed universe of magic, technology, and emotional drama, the series delves into themes of power, betrayal, family, and the effects of scientific advancement.
The ongoing second season picks up from where we left off—exploring the intensifying war between Piltover and Zaun and the consequences of Jayce’s use of Hextech, as we head toward the climactic end of the hit show.
“Arcane: League of Legends” is available to stream on Netflix.
