Enjoy a Hallyu holiday by adding these newly released Christmas tracks to your playlist
We always love a K-pop comeback, but this season, it’s also quite charming to hear our favorite idols take on beloved holiday hits—or better yet, make their own. A lot of our favorite groups and soloists have released some Christmas and winter tracks that we’re definitely adding to our Christmas playlists.
Need some Hallyu holiday vibes? Give these a listen.
“Magical” by Twice
Part of their latest mini album “Strategy,” “Magical” is a sweet full English track that describes the feeling of falling in love in the wintertime. “Now you got me falling like the winter snow / when you look at me it’s something M-A-G-I-C / Something magical,” the nine-piece girl group sings.
For those of you with a special someone this holiday, I’m sure you can relate to the feeling.
“Christmas Love” by Stray Kids
Another sweet hit, “Christmas Love,” as the name suggests, is an upbeat romantic track by Stray Kids. Much like Twice’s winter offering, this Stray Kids tune is all about the holiday romance—we’re talking mistletoe and I-love-yous by the tree! The holiday track is part of Stray Kids’ Japanese album, “Giant.”
“Touch (Holiday version)” by Katseye
One of our favorite dance trends this 2024 gets the dreamy, bell-filled treatment this holiday. This cute and cheeky song about a love interest being a little bit too slow on their pursuit gets a wintry feel, proving it has no plans of getting out of our playlists even this holiday season.
“Winter Ahead” by V
BTS’ V delivers a cozy, jazzy holiday tune with “Winter Ahead.” “Lie with me by the fire / We can be safe from the storms up high / There’s a winter ahead, if it’s cold and wet / We’re always warm here side by side,” he sings, and that just sounds like the perfect invitation for a warm post-Christmas rush wind down, if you ask me.
“The Wish” by Twice
Here’s a Christmas treat for the fans: Hot off the heels of the Misamo comeback, Twice released “The Wish,” a Japanese single, this time with all nine members, right in time for the holidays (and kicking off their 10th year, too). The Japanese track is all about Christmas preparations, and their greatest wish: to spend more happy years together.
“White Christmas” by Bing Crosby x V
If you love the Christmas classics but also want to subtly inject your love for BTS into your holiday playlist, look no further than this version of “White Christmas,” which features the voice of V. The track retains the much-loved classic arrangement of “White Christmas,” with the addition of V harmonizing with Bing Crosby.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Seventeen
For the first time ever, a K-pop act will be gracing the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Parade on Dec. 25. Seventeen is expected to perform “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”—watch out for it on streaming platforms like Disney+ on Christmas Day.
