After years of dating, Tom Holland popped the question over the holidays, sources say

The long-speculated rumors might finally be true: It looks like Zendaya and Tom Holland are now officially engaged!

The “Challengers” star, nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, appeared on the red carpet in a strapless custom Louis Vuitton gown. She was also wearing Bulgari jewelry, save for one key piece: a diamond ring.

People quickly noticed the ring did not belong to Bulgari’s collection, reigniting the engagement rumors. While Zendaya only slyly responded to questions about her engagement with a coy smile as she flashed her ring and shrugged, sources who were anonymously cited by US publications confirmed the news.

The ring is a 5-carat east-west cushion cut diamond 18K yellow gold ring by UK jeweler Jessica McCormack, sources say. 

True to Holland and Zendaya’s years of romance, the engagement was private, romantic, and intimate. According to TMZ, Holland proposed some time between Christmas and New Year’s, “in one of Zendaya’s family homes.”

The couple first met on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in 2016, in which they played love interests. But it was only in 2021 that they officially began dating. The couple has also been notably private about their romance.

While the pair themselves continue to keep mum on the engagement (a brilliant brand and PR move, Business Insider notes), social media is abuzz.
