Statement belts are thriving this second half of 2017. From the runways to the current #OOTDs of your favorite stars, it’s clear that this trend won’t be dying down.
You can also thank how Netflix’s Girlboss pointed out how belting it is one of the most effortless styling tricks you can do to update an outfit. Other than this, the functionality of a belt also just makes it unbeatable. I bet you have one in your closet that you keep coming back to when you need it.
Leading the pack in this trend is the Gucci Double G belt. I’m sure you can already see it in your mind’s eye. It’s that distinct throwback to logomania, a part of Alessandro Michele’s revival of the brand. It marries the classic Gucci logo that dominated the old designs of the brand and the new feel of the fashion house. Just today, Joey Mead-King posted a photo of herself pairing the belt with a casual look.

Joey goes for the thinner version of the belt (there are several different designs, if you look at the website) in pink leather. Consider it for your other outfits that are appropriate for sunny days.
On the other hand, Gretchen Barretto, not breaking her preference for bold statements goes for a thick Double G belt, encrusted with pearls.

You can’t miss it. And that’s the point against a simple white shirt and ripped jeans. Gretchen keeps the focus on the belt with neutral heels and a small leopard-print clutch.
For Heart Evangelista, the belt can make a flowy top more structured and interesting. I never thought of pairing a belt with an off-shoulder top until now.

And, apparently, the belt is also acceptable at the shooting range. I guess that’s what you call killer fashion.

Nadine Lustre rounds out this belt party with one from Moschino. In an all-black party ensemble, the belt fits right it. Keep everything else simple so you don’t over-accessorize.
