Flip flop love

Havaianas Top Flammato

We’re not surprised Missoni and Havaianas wanted to collaborate again—after all, their first collection, which was released in 2011, was a huge success.

“It’s sweeter the second time around,” said Anne Arcenas-Gonzalez, Managing Director of Terry SA, Inc., the distributor of Havaianas in the Philippines.

The new collection features three different designs—the Missoni Slim Rachel, Missoni Top Flammato and Top Patchwork. Anne said, “Last year’s collection featured very bright colors. Now the designs are a bit more muted.”

Stemming from the two brands’ desire to care for the environment, this collection is eco-friendly, with the pairs creatively designed using residual rubber pieces from the manufacturing process. Havaianas leftovers in a variety of colors were mixed to create the signature Missoni zigzag patterns.

Angela Missoni, creative director of Missoni, said, “For Missoni, the relationship with nature has always been a priority. Living and working closely in touch with the natural landscapes have inspired us to capture the seasons and its changing colors into our designs. At the same time, Havaianas is firmly concerned about reducing waste, reusing and recycling materials.”

Even the boxes are made from recycled paper.

And for the first time, the Missoni Havaianas designs are available in kids’ sizes. “Parents who really love the brand used to come up to us and tell us they wanted to get a pair for their kids. Now they can. We have pairs for little girls and little boys,” Anne added.

When asked which of the designs is her favorite, Anne said, “Always the slim. All my Havaianas now are slim.”

Missoni clearly loves Havaianas—and we do too.

The Missoni Loves Havaianas collection is now available exclusively at Adora in Greenbelt 5.
