Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir

There’s a new live-action Spider-Man in town, and it’s not for Spider-Gwen or Penny Parker. Nicolas Cage is confirmed to play Spider-Man Noir in an upcoming series coming to Prime Video in 2026.

Slated to be available in both black-and-white and color, the new live-action show follows an “aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero,” as stated in the official synopsis.

Joining Cage in “Spider-Noir” are Emmy Award-winning actor Lamorne Morris, Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actor Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Guest stars include Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.

Harry Bradbeer (“Enola Holmes”) is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes.

Set in the 1930s and in the middle of the Great Depression, Noir doesn’t only face Spider-Man’s familiar list of baddies. Instead, corruption and injustice at an all-time high, in an era when the masses were gravely disadvantaged. His primary rival, however, is Norman Osborn (aka the Goblin), who was behind the death of his uncle Ben in his universe.

Though Spider-Man Noir shares various similarities with the mainstream webslinger, his unique background and origins offer viewers a darker take on the friendly neighborhood hero. And the fact it’s being shown on Prime Video, which has superhero shows such as “The Boys” and “Invincible”—expect blood, violence, broken bones, and probably a few gruesome deaths.
