Alert your group chats: The overlord of all things emoji, Unicode Consortium (UC), is about to release Emoji 13.0 to start off the decade.
The new set of emojis contains 117 new symbols and aims to be more gender and race inclusive. Included in the new batch is a woman and a gender-neutral person in a tuxedo, a man and a gender-neutral person in a veil, and bottle-feeding parents for male, female and gender-neutral figures. There’s finally also the long-overdue transgender flag and symbol emoji for all your #Pride needs.

Also included in the set is the new crying smile emoji, which sums up this long-ass January. If your homie sends you that emoji in the future, you can now also reply with an emoji of friends hugging.
