The widely acclaimed crime thriller, “On The Job,” is finally getting its much-awaited sequel. Back in 2013, the film’s producers took a risk in producing a high-budget action film. Fortunately the risk paid off, as the film and cast received critical acclaim both locally and abroad. This gave showrunner Erik Matti the opportunity to continue the fast-paced narrative spanning the New Bilibid Prison to the urban underbelly of the metro.
Despite the project initially being delayed, it seems OTJ 2 is coming sooner than we think. Erik Matti has recently posted teasers for the acclaimed film’s sequel which includes the upcoming project’s title: “The Missing 8.”
Aside from the film’s title, Matti has also teased snippets of the film and certain plot points—a major one being the return of Joel Torre’s character, Tatang. Bits and pieces about the sequel are slowly coming together as the director drops hints at his official Instagram.
The final plot may not be out yet, but if it follows the same fast-paced narrative of OTJ then we are at the edge of our seats waiting for its sequel.
