Festival szn doesn’t have to be over during the quarantine period. Thanks to our favorite—and probably only—Minecraft virtual club, Club Matryoshka, we’re getting a 24 hr. summer music festival. You read that right—this virtual dystopian beach festival is a no-sleep marathon.
In collaboration with Likido, Spoonin Boys, and Para://Site Projects, Club Matryoshka’s “Infinite Summer” is happening on Apr. 26 on the club’s private server. In this ambitious virtual festival, we can expect our favorite Filipino electro-musicians as well as international ones.
Festival-goers can also gawk at virtual artworks and installations on the server. When you want to have a virtual chill out, you can go ahead and take a gander at these artists’ works: Alfred Marasigan, Joanne Cesario, Mirjam Dalire, W Don Flores, Cos Zicarelli, Mariano Batocabe and Mariano Ching.
Filipino electro-mainstays like CRWN, Pamcy, Tarsius and Meh Shua are gracing the virtual deck. We can also expect to discover new artists like Indonesia’s Gabber Modus Operandi, Japan’s Seiho, Taiwans’s Hojo and other Asian acts. There will also be musicians from the West like Giraffage, Tony Astro, Omnei and much, much more.
Although vibing with like-minded creatives during quarantine is fun, this festival is also for a good cause. “Infinite Summer” serves as the club’s fundraising initiative for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization. You can party your pixelated ass off and help others while doing so too.
