LIST: Power interruptions in Manila and nearby areas this week

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced that there will be a power shortage in several parts of Metro Manila and its neighboring areas starting today until Mar. 17. During this period, Meralco will be replacing poles and reconnecting faulty lines. The power interruption is said to last from 30 minutes to several hours.

The power shortage follows last week’s unannounced water interruption, which is caused by the declining water levels at La Mesa Dam. It was announced that the water elevation at the dam fell to 68.93 meters, breaking the 69-meter critical low level. Its ideal water level is at 80 meters.
