Surprise birthday bash

BREITLING brand ambassador Dingdong Dantes

At Casa Celestina, the awesome 1930s ancestral home of  Rachy Cuna in Manila, we surprised Marisa Echauz Cojuangco on her birthday.

This surprise bash came about because, as always, her husband Choy Cojuangco had wanted something unique for Marisa’s birthday.

Days before, Marisa’s friends, sisters Gia and Maia Suarez, had wanted to meet with Rachy regarding preparations for Maia’s daughter who was set to get married in Boracay. Rachy suggested a dinner in Casa Celestina. Gia herself organized the surprise bash and invited Marisa on the excuse that the meeting would be to discuss the wedding décor for the Boracay affair.

Little did Marisa know that Gia had invited their closest friends to greet her on her birthday.

Providing a little entertainment were the guitar and percussion duo, Dine and Wine, giving an impressive performance, palanggas.

Of course, Rachy had his ever reliable pianist  that night, too.

Rachy prepared the excellent menu: kilawin;  Rachy’s Star Salad; chicken pork adobo; Soul Fish, his lola’s favorite fish dish; crab cooked with aligue;  and his famous gelato.

Rachy entertained us all in style, dahlings. Now, don’t you just admire and love him?
