If you sleep well, you live well

“If you sleep well, you are free to dream,” Marco Magni quotes Ghiuliano Magni, founder of Magniflex, in expressing his father’s philosophy and the company’s passion: best quality sleep.

Magniflex takes inspiration from Tuscany’s topography and uses only natural, eco-compatible materials that respect the environment. “To do this, we had to create a mattress that could draw inspiration from the stillness of the meadows on our hills, from the softness of our clouds in the skies, and from the fragrance of the winds of our land,” Magni added.

It all started in 1960, when Giuliano Magni, from his small workshop in Prato, started producing his first mattresses. With his keen eye for detail, Giuliano had the highest work standards, and made sure that the mattresses arrived at their owners’ homes in a perfect state.

“Today, my father’s dream has become a reality in 76 countries around the world. It grants the best sleep to 35 million people. It produces 10,000 new mattresses every day, always in harmony with the environment and nature,” Magni said.

Reduced CO2 emissions

The Magniflex Geoethic Collection, a range of eco-friendly mattresses and pillows, uses fibers and materials that are natural and available locally (in order to reduce CO2 emissions from transportation to a minimum). It also employs environment-friendly production processes in packaging and distribution.

The collection uses fabrics exclusively created with linen, cotton and bamboo fiber. The use of aloe vera, essential oils and soy protein in the inner filling of various models is an added benefit; these help regenerate the body, contributing to an unforgettable experience.

Design is also a fundamental factor; the Magniflex Geoethic collection personalizes its fabrics with delicate nature patterns in quilting with soft and gentle lines.

Kenneth Cobonpue, a world-class furniture designer, shares the same passion in conveying his design principle. “Like my designs, Magniflex captures its constant desire for innovation. I believe in their commitment in giving the highest quality of standards and utilizing natural materials like bamboo and mais in creating extraordinary mattresses that caters to the market’s extraordinary needs,” Cobonpue said.

Daphne Oseña-Paez, TV personality and homemaker, also believes in the same principle. “Juggling between shoot schedules and finding time for my family is not an easy task. I am vulnerable to a stressful lifestyle and getting a sound sleep seems luxury to me. When I’m at home, I make sure that I spend quality time with my family. You’ll be surprised how a quality mattress could be a key to enjoying such luxury,” Paez said.

Vital to health

While eating well and getting some form of exercise may be prerequisites to a healthy lifestyle, getting enough sleep is vital to one’s health as well.

Dr. Michael Sarte, consultant director for sleep apnea and insomnia at the Medical City, believes that sleep is as important as eating and drinking. “Each individual requires different sleep quantities according to age and day’s activities-babies and toddlers need 13-18 hours of sleep, kids and adolescents need 10-11 hours of sleep, and adults need 7-8 hours of sleep,” Sarte explained.

The Magniflex Classic Line offers ergonomic mattresses to suit your sleeping needs. It uses five different kinds of materials—Memoform Magnifoam, Geolatex, Eliosoft, Eliofoam and Latex—and textiles that are produced using avant-garde technology sans chemical treatments. Every mattress is made with either the three-zone ergonomic structure in mind (which supports body weight in three fundamental areas: shoulders, body and legs) or the seven-zone ergonomic structure for differentiated support of the head, shoulders, trunk, waist, legs, knees and ankles.

Magniflex mattresses are customizable and can be cut to measure, to conform to one’s height for optimum comfort-and still fit a vintage bed frame. The mattresses also come with their own mattress covers, made with 100-percent natural fibers, making the fabrics hypoallergenic, breathable, beneficial to one’s health and eco-compatible (the extraction of the fibers and its manufacturing is not harmful to the environment).
