Remember when #SupportFilipinoFilms resurfaced sometimes in November 2018?
This was the time when cinema goers and local film enthusiasts rallied behind comedy film “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap” after MTRCB didn’t give its seal of approval for nationwide cinema slots. Before the film could even prove itself, it was already denied a chance owing to its “bad connotation” to the public. But why is it not the same for foreign crime or heist films?
It’s long overdue, but the film is finally getting the second chance it deserves—through online streaming, that is.
Producer Mavx Productions just revealed that “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap” is landing on Netflix. “Opo totoo po ang chikka ng mga kapitbahay! May katapat na ang Money Heist dahil Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap is streaming on Netflix SOOON! ? #MoneyHays,” the post reads but no date has been mentioned yet.
Set in imaginary Barangay Husay, this Marius Talampas-directed film follows a bunch of friends who try to pull off the “perfect crime.” Maybe that’s enough to build on expectations.
Those who’ve seen it in microcinemas say it’s a complete trip for different reasons. The trailer already feels like it.
