PSA: Ayala Museum will be closed for renovations starting June 1

You might want to head over to the Ayala Museum this May (Tip: The museum will have free admission this May 19 in celebration for International Museum Day) because starting June 1 until next year, the museum will be temporarily closed for renovations. This includes all of their wings, like the Filipinas Heitage Library, though online research inquiries will still be entertained.

In light of the closure, Ayala Museum will be introducing a new program called Ayala Museum On-The-Go (OTG), an onsite and offsite program meant to promote art and culture.

Part of the OTG program is the launch of traveling exhibitions such as “Kisame: Visions of Heaven on Earth,” “Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined,” the “Future of History: Diorama Virtual Reality,” and the Filipinas Heritage Library’s “Women and War” and “Color in History” exhibitions in malls and schools around the metro.

Ayala Museum will also continue to hold pop-up workshops, lectures, concerts, and other programs at surprise locations.

Similarly, Ayala Museum will also be strengthening its digital platforms as part of their OTG program. The museum’s permanent collections such as the “Gold of Ancestors” and “Dioramas of Philippine History” will still be accessible through audio guides and photos in Ayala Museum’s mobile app, which is available for free at the App Store and Google Play.

Additionally, they will also be launching Ayala Museum’s official YouTube channel soon, which will allow viewers to experience the museum’s collection through exclusive videos and curated content.
