Any old tale will tell us that bottled-up issues are bound to blow up and our mental health is one of ’em. But students of the University of the Philippines Diliman are one step closer to getting the help their heads need, free of charge.
According to an announcement via Facebook, the UP Diliman Psychological Services (UPD PsycServ) will offer free online psychotherapy sessions for eight weeks, starting mid-October to December 2020. Those who’ll make the cut will be part of the short-term therapy project that “aims to enhance and add to the programs being offered” by the organization, with modules delivered in either group or individual sessions.
Sounds like a deal? Those interested will have to tick these boxes below:
- UP Diliman undergraduate and graduate students (those on LOA may still sign up)
- With stable internet connection (Recommended Bandwidth: 1.5 Mbps)
- With access to safe space for practice: Private room and free from environmental noise
- With Zoom app
- Can allot 2.5 hours/week
- Able to attend all eight sessions
UPD folks will have to hurry though as these sessions are limited to 40 slots. Interested students can sign up through their site. But for those who’ll miss snagging that Golden Ticket, PsycServ also holds regular individual sessions with waiting times of approximately two months.
And from our experience, getting help is a giant step—even if it’s virtual. For the non-UPD kids, we still got you covered: Check out our handy dandy guide to mental health resources here.
