UPDATE: As of 4:15 p.m., the ABS-CBN News and ANC 24/7 channels have been restored. According to YouTube, the pages were hacked a day before.
Today on weird internet news: YouTube channels The ABS-CBN News and ANC 24/7 are nowhere to be found on the site.
Several Twitter folks noticed that both news pages by the media giant cannot be accessed since this morning, Nov. 3. Instead, this message appears when you try visiting their YouTube accounts: “This account has been terminated for a violation of YouTube’s terms of service.” As of writing, no violations have been confirmed.
ABS-CBN has acknowledged the issue and has released a statement regarding an investigation. “We are currently investigating this and working closely with YouTube to resolve the problem.” In the meantime, the network advised everyone to catch livestreams and reports on the TeleRadyo channel.
It’s been four months since ABS-CBN was ordered to shut down. During the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly over the weekend, the network became the online talk of the town as many people noticed the void it left in disseminating information to far-flung areas, including former Vice President Jejomar Binay. However, the network continued its live updates via social media, aside from The Kapamilya channel, ANC and TeleRadyo on TV.
