Who doesn’t fall in love with Studio Ghibli at first watch?
We don’t know how to explain it but it might be the amazing feats in animation with every film or the fresh takes on storytelling. Ghibli films aren’t wholesome for wholesome’s sake. They always have heart—and they never fail to stun all ages.
They inspire all walks of life, especially local artists we love. So why not do a deep dive on Studio Ghibli films with them for free?
As part of Fully Booked Fest this year, the chain bookstore will hold a Studio Ghibli roundtable. “The Art of Storytelling: Studio Ghibli Round Table” will have iconic comic con mainstays and young artists discussing their love for Ghibli films. Listen to the likes of Rocketsheep’s Avid Liongoren, Haliya Publishing’s Princess Malonzo, illustrator Mervin Malonzo and comic artist Hulyen tackle and fan over Miyazaki’s fictional worlds.
This roundtable will be streamed on Facebook Live. Fully Booked wants viewers to expect a “a fun and substantial discussion as they dissect the films’ themes, storytelling, and art.” So if you want to talk Miyazaki and Ghibli with a bunch of local artists you’ve been following, it’s time to shoot your shot.
