The UP School of Economics Alumni Association (UPSEAA) is launching “Arteconomics,” an art exhibit which aims to raise funds for the José P. Encarnacion Endowment Fund for Faculty Development and the UPSEAA Scholarship Fund.
“Arteconomics” will open Sept. 18 at Galerie Joaquin Main on P. Guevarra Street., Addition Hills, San Juan, and will run until Sept. 25.
Featured are over 125 paintings and sculptures from top modern and contemporary artists such as National Artists Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Arturo Luz and Abdul Mari Imao; Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Juvenal Sanso; sculptors Ramon Orlina and Glenn Cagandahan; and Angelito Antonio, Mario Parial, Lydia Velasco, Carlo Magno and Dominic Rubio.
Other artists are Jerry Morada, Vincent de Pio, Aileen Lanuza, Karina Baluyut, Aldrino Abes and Jovan Benito.
Guests of honor are Neda director general Arsenio Balisacan; Bangko Sentral deputy governor Nestor Espenilla Jr.; Orlando B. Vea, president of PLDT Communications and Energy Ventures, Inc.; Robina Gokongwei-Pe of the Robinson’s Retail Group; Carmen M. Pascual of the Philippine Association of University Women, UP Chapter; Hans Sicat, president of the Philippine Stock Exchange.
