The A24 x Steven Yeun ship returns with ‘The Humans’

Come one, come all, the A24 Steven Yeun multiverse is still upon us, because the Oscar-nominated actor has another project up his (gosh darn) talented sleeve: the upcoming family drama “The Humans.”

After his critically-acclaimed stint with “Minari,” Steven Yeun—along with “Lady Bird” and “Booksmart’s” Beanie Feldstein—will return to the A24 production space in a screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning play of the same name. Helmed by the play’s original writer Stephen Karam, the film will follow couple Brigid Blake (Feldstein) and Richard (Yeun), as they spend Thanksgiving dinner with her family in a rundown New York City apartment.

The trailer, which starts with a cheeky nudge to Yeun’s previously starred zombie series “The Walking Dead,” becomes progressively darker, tackling topics like mental health, low income, and lack of medical assistance, as seen in three generations of the Blake family. And while it may not be technically in the horror category, critics are noting its “unsettling” depictions of family relationships. (You know what that means: Sign us up, then.)

“The Humans” is set to hit theaters abroad on Nov. 24, but you can get your crumbs with the trailer below:
