Running in Heels

Fashion has always been a big part of my life. Being the daughter of fashion maven Apples Aberin, I grew up watching countless fashion shoots, meeting renowned Filipino designers, and staying on top of the ever-changing trends. Even now, it amazes me how much I continuously learn from my mom, her group of talented friends and her creative environment.

But I was finally able to step out on my own, and put all that stock knowledge into practice. Two years ago, I completed a 4-month internship with Mega magazine, and worked as a contributor for them that summer. I also finished an internship with Preview magazine just three months ago.

These experiences and more have opened new eyes to the world of fashion. I learned so many things—how to assemble shoots, strike a balance between school and work, write feature articles and find the confidence to speak with big shots in the industry to name a few.

I’m so lucky to have been able to witness what goes on behind-the-scenes of two of the best fashion magazines of the Philippines. And although I know I still have so much to learn, I have certainly gone a long way from having my mom put on my make-up!

It goes without saying that I’m more than thrilled to be starting my blog with Inquirer. I’m so excited to pass on what I’ve learned, lend my fresh take on trends and more importantly, share my undying passion.

So why not join me in my journey to discovering this remarkable world of fashion?

Love,

Sam
